I'm dreaming of a white Thanksgiving!?

This is a long one - making up for lost blog time.

Last week was Thanksgiving & my mom took the entire week off work. We had a great idea that she could have a Nana & Abby day -which she selected to be Monday. We knew to expect snow, but this is Seattle - 1 flake hits the ground & they dub it a "Winter Storm". So we mostly ignored the weather man. My mom came over way too early for her liking & she had a fabulous day with Abby. It snowed ALL.DAY.LONG.
I was at work downtown Seattle, where it was snowing, but the roads were clear. I decided to leave a little early & caught the bus at 3:15. I finally made it home at 5:40pm. This was the main road by my house:

Needless to say, my mom spent the night. It was her first time! We had fun - we baked frozen pizzas, ate chocolate & played with Abby. The next morning we were all snowed in together. Finally around noon, the sun melted the snow enough that mom could go home. I went to work the next day, but only for a few hours & then came home & baked homemade yeast rolls & an amazing apple pie, which tasted just as good as it looked.

By Thanksgiving Day, the roads were completely melted. We drove to my parent's house where my mom made the entire menu out of a magazine...literally! It was so tasty! Brandon even ate brussel sprouts! This was Abby's first Thanksgiving to actually eat the feast & she loved EVERYthing! Mom had set aside veggies without any seasoning in case Abby didn't like the dressed up dishes, but Abby loved it all! Her favorites were the brussel sprouts (I think because they were fun to pick up & bite into), stuffing and sweet potatoes. She also was strangely obsessed with my rolls. She would see them & throw a huge fit until we gave her a roll. I guess she is related to me afterall :)
We headed to a family friend's house after that for a more traditional Thanksgiving - where Abby ate NOTHING because she was still stuffed from our 1st feast. Then finally headed home. It was a long, but completely lovely Thanksgiving. I really love spending time with family and friends & eating yummy food!

Friday morning, I got up at 3am to do some black Friday shopping. It was a complete bust, and that's all I want to say about that. I got home around 8am & made pancakes for breakfast. Then we got our tree & put the decorations up. Abby thinks it's all quite amazing & she loved helping me! She's been pretty good about the tree so far. We had to move some of the glass balls, but overall she's been pretty tame.

We let Abby hang the 1st ornament

But she didn't quite understand that meant she could no longer hold the ornament.
The final product:
