Life as a Temporary Stay at Home Mom

I'm going to blast everyone with pictures so I can quickly fast forward to the present. Hold on to your butts...or maybe your eyeballs would be more appropriate :)

We came home the day before Brooklyn turned 1 month old. She actually managed to gain weight while in the hospital! Abby was so happy to have her family back! She spent a lot of time in Baby Sister's room, playing with all the stuff that is supposed to belong to baby sister, but somehow Abby has managed to take everything over. I am thinking this is going to be an ongoing trend. Poor Brooklyn.
Reading books to Romie

The next week or so looked something like this:
How Brooklyn spent her time
How Abby spent her time
Abby is the best big sister ever!!

And she is the best kid ever, except for when I am nursing.

Since I had some time to get stuff accomplished while out of work, I took the opportunity to get Abigail in for her first real cleaning at the dentist. She did amazing! She let them clean & polish her teeth, and even allowed them to floss!! I attempted potty training since she was acting like such a big girl, but that lasted about 2 days before she completely lost interest. I have to say, I did start to get the hang of being a Stay at Home Mom. I took Abigail to the library for story time once a week. We got doughnuts beforehand. It became a really fun outing! We had several play dates lined up. I learned how to keep her busy & moving so that she actually would nap for me. I got Brooklyn on a schedule, so I wasn't intimidated to leave the house with both girls. It wasn't too bad/scary. It's definitely a lot of hard work though! There were days when I didn't put makeup on or get dressed & just felt like an absolute slob. Or days when I was nursing and looked up to see Abigail had completely stripped off her clothes & was rummaging through the pantry...

And then a couple weeks after bringing my baby home from the hospital & being completely freaked out about her being exposed to germs...Abby got the flu! And then a couple weeks after that I got the stomach flu, and Mastitis, all at once. Somehow though, we managed not to share with the baby. That was a miracle!
This is how we roll to the doctor now!
Easter was a success this year! It could be its own post, but I'm in a hurry & being lazy, so here are just a couple pics of my cute kiddos:

At some point in her 2nd month of life, Brooklyn found her baby weight...

And Abby kept up with her antics as usual. These are her babies. Baby Sister, Baby Declan, and Baby B.
We did crafts, and I cooked yummy things. And I guess that about sums up the remaining time on leave. Funny how many hours in the day get filled up with just playing & doing housework!

Crock Pot pork chops, parmesan mashed potatoes & corn bread - yum!
