Abigail = Awesome

Since I'm waiting around for coworkers to get back to me & stuck with lots of work to do & unable to move forward cause I"m waiting on everyone else....I"m blogging. Not that I'm annoyed with work or anything ;)

I'd like to take a moment to point out how awesome my 3 year old, Abigail Jean is. She's literally the smartest person I know. Obviously I know people who are smarter than her now, but she is 3 years old. I would not be surprised to find out that her IQ far exceeds 95% of Americans. Just sayin.

Not only that, she's super funny & cute & beautiful! She's enrolled in ballet class where she goes once a week. This summer she will have a recital, but she just started the class in January. The class is "closed" to parents - meaning you drop your child off, but are not allowed in the classroom. Once a month they have "observation week" where parents can sit in & see their child's progress. This last Saturday was March's observation week. I have to admit, Saturday was a crazy jam-packed day & we had a photographer scheduled to come over immediately following class and I was stressed and rushed & really didn't want to go to ballet class. Usually Brandon takes her. But, I knew she wanted me there, especially since it was observation week, so I took a deep breath and finally made it to class (all be it 4 minutes late).

I'm so glad I went! Watching her dance was the cutest thing! She is so into ballet. I never thought she would actually get this into it. I find her at home watching dancers on TV or on her child music videos & she copies what they are doing. I think that's a pretty cool skill to have that will benefit her through her entire life.

By the end of class, it was all I could do not to cry because I was a mixture of proud and touched and over tired and over caffeinated and stressed. And it helped me realize no matter how busy we are, we should always pause and take time to smell the flowers/ watch tiny ballet dancers. Cause - they smell good. Don't mind the stain on her ballet costume. She did something to it last weekend & I grabbed it out of the dryer 5 minutes before time to leave for ballet & realized it had stained. Guess I'll be making a trip to WalMart this week for a new one.

And a video...

Don't let the sweet ballet dancing fool you, she's still very much got her feisty side.
