She Partied Like it Was Her Birthday!
My little girl is 2. In fact, if you ask her, she will tell you very proudly that she is "TWO YEARS OLD!!!"
It's hard to believe that 1 year ago she wasn't even walking on her own. Now she is running, jumping, climbing, hanging upside down! She is such a big girl and I am the proudest mom in the world. This weekend was packed full of festivities & I dubbed it "Abigail's Birthday Extravaganza".
Saturday, we had her main party with about 35 guests at Little Gym (gymnastics place for young ones). I decided on a Sesame Street theme since she loves Elmo, Cookie Monster and Big Bird. And since it's impossible for me to keep anything simple, I made Sesame Street cupcakes, and little mason jar aquariums with "Dorothy" (Elmo's pet goldfish) as party favors. I'll do a seperate blog to show the party details.
Abby had an amazing time at her party! I was so happy that even with so many people there she was very outgoing an energetic and really enjoyed her own party.
This is Hailey, Abby's BFF
They had Abby sit in the middle of the parachute & sang her a special song. She loved it!
Future Gymnist?
Yes, definitely need to enroll her in gymnastics!
After playing in the gym for an hour, the kids headed into the party room for pizza & cupcakes. Abby got an Elmo cupcake. I think the frosting was her favorite part.
She got so many gifts! And it was cute that her BFF, Hailey, sat next to her & helped her :)
Abby absolutely LOVED her party! In fact, I have never seen her that excited in her entire life! It was really cool to see how much she enjoyed everything! She was talking & squealing & letting me know how much fun she had the whole drive home. Then, once we got home she pulled each of her gifts out one-by-one and had us open the packaging for her. Her favorite gift of all at her party was a Cinderella babydoll. Go figure. The only thing, she's a bit angry because the doll's clothes don't come off so it can't get "nakey". She threw a FIT yesterday telling me baby wanted to be "nakey". So funny!
Sunday, we had birthday round 2. I took Abby to Starbucks for a steamed milk (in a real starbucks cup with a straw, which she drank like a big girl & didn't spill) and a "doughnut" which is a petite vanilla bean scone. Then picked up a traditional birthday cake from Fred Meyer, as well as "store bought" cupcakes for her party at daycare on Monday (they don't allow homemade).
We gave her gifts from mom & dad, which was a toy car, some dress up clothes, regular clothes, and big girl bedding made by yours truly. That's right. I'm crafty.
In the afternoon, grandparents came over for a family party. This was when Abby got her most favorite birthday gifts. of course. That's what grandparents do. They give the best gifts!
Waiting for party to start
Abby carried the balloon bouquet around with her all over the house
Standing on her new bedding. It wasn't as fun as bicycles & kareoke machines, duh!
Nana & Dadoo got her a Radio Flyer tricycle! She calls it "My Bicycle!" Can't reach the pedals yet though.
Abby's First Car
Karaoke machine from Papa & Abuela. AWESOME! gift (see video at bottom of this post)
I think she maybe enjoyed her birthday.
Puppy Love
And last, but certainly not least, a couple of videos of Abby singing with her karaoke machine. She is AWESOME! But did need to break for lollipop licks.
This looks like it was a crazy cool party!
