Sleep Training - Night 3

Ok, so I'd say nights 1 & 2 were steps foward...last night was a step back. Abigail didn't sleep much at daycare & Brandon was out picking up dinner when all of a sudden she was falling asleep right in the middle of her play mat! So I had to rush upstairs, I read literally 1 page of a book & then nursed her, she was in bed within less than 10 minutes.
She woke up half an hour later, but then slept for 4 hours. When she woke up at 11:45, it took almost 2 hours to get her back to sleep finally. I tried & failed at everything, then sent Brandon in. He got her to sleep...10 minutes later she woke back up! lol!
Anyway, we finally got her back to sleep at 1:15 & she slept for 2 more hours, then she was up several times after that, and up for the day at 6am.

Ok, so it may sound like a really frustrating night, and believe me it was, but I actually feel ok about things today.

The positives:
  • Went to bed easily at 7pm, even without Brandon there to read her stories.
  • Even though she woke up 9 times last night & was being very difficult for a couple hours, I did NOT bring her in bed with us! I actually ended up laying a blanket on her floor, laying down & nursing her there, then moving her to her crib (this is what finally got her to sleep) but I felt it was a great success because she didn't come in bed with us. We did not give up.
  • I'm glad if we had to have a night with so many wakings, it was a Friday night. Now we have the weekend to take naps in the daytime & recover :)
  • Brandon was helpful. He helped put her back down 3 times last night & saved me when I was completely losing my mind at 12:45am.
The numbers:
Total hours of nap time: 2.5
Total hours of night sleep: 9 (out of 11 hours from bedtime to waketime)
Grand total sleep: 11.5 - Way short of the 14 she should be getting...hopefully that means more sleep for Night 4?
