Baby B is 5 months old!

So yesterday, Brooklyn was on her stomach and really wanted one of her favorite toys, which was out of reach. And what did she do? She freakin' scooted herself to it! Not cool! I know, I know, I should be so proud & gushing, but frankly I'm a little irritated that my infant is starting to grow up :( She's most likely my last baby and it makes me sad that she won't be a baby forever. I look at Abigail & logically I know Brooklyn will be that big and smart in no time, but I just cannot envision her as anything other than my precious sweet giant baby. I love her to bits & pieces!

Brooklyn is officially 5 months old. I took her to the doctor yesterday because she's had a very hoarse voice with cold symptoms for about 3 weeks now. Apparently due to her Laryngomalacia this is very common, any time she gets a cold it will make her hoarse and take quite a while to go away. I was relieved to hear it's normal, and she has nothing more than the common cold, and a lot of teething going on! She's getting all 4 of her front bottom teeth at once right now. Poor bug!

Weight: 17 pounds even. She's wearing 9-12 month size clothes! Unbelievable!

Food: Brooklyn eats a hearty portion of baby cereal 3 times per day now. We've also started giving her some baby food. We tried avocados, which she managed to choke down, but she refuses them sometimes too. Last night I gave her some peas and she LOVED them! I was surprised. Abby loved them too. My kids love peas. Who knew. I've been making her organic baby food myself, just like I did for Abigail. We'll see if I can keep it up. I'm doing it mostly out of guilt as of now, we'll see if I get over it or power through.

What's new: The biggest change this month has been her playfulness. She gets fussy because she's bored & doesn't want to just sit and watch everyone else have fun, she wants to participate too. I set up the exersaucer for her, and she really loves it. She also loves to be tickled and giggles these deep belly giggles when you tickle her. It's super cute! She found her feet (which I wasn't sure she could manage to reach them, but she somehow did) and that's a new favorite hobby of hers as well. She's also been trying to do more baby talk - making lots of "b" sounds and blowing raspberries. I remember so vividly when Abigail did that, just like it was yesterday.

I really love seeing her come into her own, interact with Abigail, and starting to be mobile, but at the same time it makes me sad that she's growing out of her infancy. But really? Have you ever heard a mom say her kids weren't growing up too fast?

She got really mad when I took her sign away!
