Ahh, spring is here! Saturday was the first day of spring & was definitely my favorite first day of spring in my entire life!
Friday night we decided to try and see what Abigail thought of sweet potatoes. She has been really disgusted with the rice cereal and I thought maybe she might like something a little less bland & grainy. So we gave it a try...the result?
That's right! That is a clean bowl! She didn't exactly LOVE the sweet potatoes, but she ate them without much complaint. Much better than the rice cereal which she never finishes & gives me this horrible look - oh you've seen the
look. She did wear a little bit of it, but I think that's the sign of any successful baby meal - it's just not good if it doesn't end up all over the face, the carpet, mommy's hair...

So sweet potato success! Yay! But that's not even the best news...followed by the sweet potatoes was
12 hours of sleep! That's right - I said
12 hours!!!!!!! She went to bed around 8:45pm, woke up once at 6am to eat, then right back to sleep until 8:50am! I had to document it. B & I kept going in her room to check on her in the morning because for once we were able to sleep in & even then we woke up before she did!

So she woke up smiling! It was such a great way to start off the weekend. Then I changed her into my favorite spring outfit of hers, and we had a wonderful day full of visitors. First, "Nana" and "Daddoo/Grandpa" came by. Nana helped me & we gave Abigail a bath, and simultaneously mopped the floors. Then she was kind enough to hang out with Abigail while I finished cleaning the house and put myself together for the day. After they left, my friend Laura stopped by and got her workout for the day by holding Abigail (who weighs 15.5 pounds now!). It was so great to see her & Abigail really loved her! She just thought she was awesome and kept smiling and laughing at Laura. After that, Uncle Dave came over and we watched March Madness - go Husky's! Eventhough I could care less about basketball, but whatever. Then we all went to an early dinner and Abigail sat content in her carseat. Since she'd slept 12 hours at night, she didn't take many naps during the day, but she was pretty happy & content all day long.
That night, we had family game night. Brandon & I played Yahtzee & he let Abigail roll the dice, that is until she tried to put one in her mouth! Oops! She's not ready for games just yet.
So since we had so much success with sweet potatoes on Friday, we tried them again Saturday night. She slept 11 hours that night, again only waking up once. And last night she slept the entire night, I even had to wake her up to feed her this morning before I left for work. I felt bad waking her up after only 9 hours (yeah that's right - she slept for 9 hours straight!!) but I fed her & she went back to sleep for another 20 minutes. I feel so refreshed & there is finally light at the end of my sleep-deprived tunnel! The only downside of the sweet potatoes is that they are very messy and I think baths will now have to be a daily event. But Abigail doesn't mind one bit! She loves to splash & then yesterday we busted out the baby bath robe and gave her a little baby massage with lotion. She loved it!
Each day seems to be better than the last & Abigail just continues to grow and get cuter & cuter every day, even when I don't think it's possible for her to get any cuter she does.
