Sleep Training - Night 9

9 nights down, only 1 to go!!! Then we can look & see if we are where we want to be with things, or if we need to re-evaluate & try again. I think we're pretty darn close though, and can't believe the progress we've seen over the past 9 nights :)

Naps: Abigail took almost 4hours worth of naps yesterday at daycare. This is great! It's exactly what she should be getting. But then, we took her to swim lessons & stopped to pickup dinner on the way home & she napped the entire time! So she had a good 30 minute nap & woke up at 7:05pm...40 minutes before her bedtime. Oops!

Routine: She seemed to be winding down around 8:00, so we took her upstairs & did our routine. She was crabby, so we figured she was tired. But, things were thrown off from swim lessons. She didn't get her "dinner" (solid food), and we gave her a rinse off in the shower to get the chlorine off her. Plus, she'd just had a nap. So it was not surprising that she took a while to go down. She was also extra hungry, which I'm not used to accomodating, so that took a while. She finally went to sleep at 9pm.

Sleep & Night Wakings: Hip-hip hooray!!!!! She only woke up once! This is completely normal & acceptable for her. She has always taken a feeding around 1am. So she woke up at 12:50am, ate & was back asleep by 12:55. That was her ONLY waking! Ahhhh, thank you! thank you! thank you! :)

The positives:
  • She slept from 9pm - 6am with only 1 wake-up & it was for a purpose :)
Numbers:
Total hours of nap time: 4 hours 5 minutes
Total hours of night sleep: 9 hours
Grand total sleep: 13 hours - if not for that 6:30pm nap, she probably would have gotten 14+ hours, which would be ideal! yay!!!
